The Flight 4.3 is derived from one of Australia’s most successful family regatta classes, (The Northbridge Senior - NS14). The hull is imported from Australia by Landenberger Sailing specifically for the purpose of creating a new one design racing class in Europe encompassing the latest technology at a price affordable to the average weekend sailor. The hull is a light weight high performance skiff design built from foam sandwich composite construction. While the hull is very narrow on the waterline the deck is perfectly designed for comfortable hiking and a self draining floor design leaves the boat always dry inside. Even after a capsize the boat is dry within seconds.

The rig is a high performance design using an over rotating wing mast with 11 square meters of sail area made up of 2.8 qm in the jib and 8.2 qm in a square top, fully battened main sail. With one crew member on trapeze the flight 4.3 is a top performer upwind. Downwind the Jib is set out on a pole and sliding sidestays allow the boom to be let forward to 90 degrees. The light weight, narrow waterline, and generous sail area allow the Flight 4.3 to be highly competitive with most other spinnaker boats in the same class. The simplicity of this boat makes it the perfect family racer.

A second smaller set of sails with 7.2 qm in the mainsail and 2.5 qm in the jib allows the light even very young crews to compete on a very equal level. From our experience in Australia we know how well this boat can perform even with a small rig.

Sails are one design built by Landenberger One Design Germany and will be supplied in Mylar or dacron.

Crew weight equalisation
 Min weight 125kg - freedom of choice of sails but only one mainsail and two jibs can be selected for a regatta.
 Crews between 115kg - 125kg, carry half the difference in correctors or a 7.2 qm Mainsail with no Correctors. Choice of two jibs is open and can be changed during a regatta.
 Crews under 115kg, must use 7.2 qm mainsail and 2.5 qm jib with no correctors.
